Hammonds Classic Beds & Pocket Sprung Mattresses

Made for me in the UK and tastefully finished in our Hammonds exclusive ticking.

The very finest classic mattresses feature hundreds of individual springs encased in pockets. Because the springs can operate separately they prevent 'roll together', where the heavier partner rolls towards the lighter one. My Hammonds Classic Mattresses use an even more advanced 'Revolution Spring' whereby each spring has a mini inner-spring which kicks in when a heavier weight compresses the larger outer spring. The more springs the better really when it comes to mattress comfort. The springs in our Classic Mattresses are also zoned, giving more support to the heavier parts of your body such as your shoulders and bottom.

The final important element of our Classic Mattresses are the luxurious fillings - choose from cotton, wool, horse hair or even silk and cashmere - all combined to provide a well supported, ultra comfortable mattress.

The numbers in our mattress name, such as Classic 1366, denote the number of springs in each 5' mattress in our collection.

Hammonds Contemporary Beds & Foam Mattresses

Our stunning range of modern beds and mattresses are made for me in Belgium because its mainland Europe where they really specialise in the stylish looking, low-slatted bedstead shape that's quite new to the UK.

The slatted base enables air to circulate around the mattress and it's also, due to its sprung beech slats, quite flexible; moving and flexing as pressure is applied to the mattress.

Our Contemporary Foam Mattresses feature memory foam but unlike some brands in the market, ours again because of European expertise, feature layers of foam with an Aerotec border enabling you to enjoy a cooler night's sleep. The clever layering of foam and in some cases additional pocket springs, provides more support to heavier parts of the body such as your shoulders and bottom.

These superb mattresses also feature removable, dry cleanable, soft jersey covers with Aegis - a specialist allergy prevention coating which prevents dust mite and bacterial growth - keeping the covers lovely, fresh and clean.

If you are looking for the ultimate focal point bedstead, the selection I have here is second to none. I've travelled far and wide to bring you a range that you won't see on every high street and that fulfils my stringent demands for quality. My Classic Cornish beds for example are handmade using the traditional Victorian casting methods and the wooden beds are selected using woods from sustainable forests.
